Optiver is seeking Machine Learning Researchers to join our futures trading team, also known as Delta One. We’re looking for someone to create and improve machine-learning models, conduct signal/alpha research, and deliver improved predictions from which to run trading strategies. You’d work on a close-knit team that applies quantitative expertise and scientific training to solve tough, interdisciplinary problems.
Our Delta One team is comprised of researchers (like yourself), traders and software engineers. They work in a collaborative environment to design, improve, and execute trading strategies using a machine learning approach. We take pride in seeing the real-time impact of solutions and our quick feedback loop allows us to innovate rapidly in an ever-changing market.
What you’ll need:
- PhD required in computer science, statistics, data science, mathematics, physics, machine learning or a related STEM field
- Experience using Python, R, Matlab, or other analytical tools for quantitative research
- Experience in computationally intensive research and managing and analyzing very large data sets
- Possesses a strong foundation in Machine Learning techniques. XGBoost is a plus
Who we are:
Optiver is a leading proprietary trading firm using technology to provide the most up-to-date and competitive prices in financial products around the world. Put simply, we improve the markets. Achieving this requires excellence in everything we do. That’s not merely an aspiration, but our reason for being.
We’re seeking people who up the ante with nerve, with guts and, most importantly, with heart. We’re looking for the bold. Does that describe you? Then opt in.
This year, we are growing our US footprint and opening a new office in Austin, TX. We see this office becoming our global tech hub. It will be the center of our innovation efforts in technology and quantitative research. Given these ambitions, it is fitting that this office will be home to our Futures Trading Team (Delta One) and our global engineering initiatives. This offers a unique opportunity to be a founding member of our Austin office, while also having the support of a small landing party of current employees and tenured leaders.
