Optiver is pleased to announce its investment in Traxys, a global commodities trader with a leading position in metals critical to the energy transition.

Traxys is a mid-sized physical trader that supplies a wide range of customers with commodities across base metals, specialty metals and minerals. The company boasts an operating history spanning more than a century and senior management with 30+ years in the metals industry.

Under the terms of the transaction, Traxys management, together with Optiver, CoLift, an investment firm, and other investors will acquire all of the interests in Traxys held by funds managed by Carlyle and affiliates of Louis M. Bacon, the founder of Moore Capital Management. The transaction is expected to close in May 2023 following receipt of regulatory and other approvals.
