I applied last year, when can I apply again?
At Optiver, we have an 8-month waiting period for candidates following an unsuccessful application for a similar role.
If you have applied for this role, or a similar role at any of our offices, in the last 8 months and have been unsuccessful, you can reapply once your cooling period has concluded.
Please note: if you reapply before the end of your 8-month cooling period, this will be considered your most recent unsuccessful application.
I have previously interviewed at Optiver. Can I skip some parts of the current application process?
At this stage, we are unable to offer fast-tracking for most roles. However, your previous experience with Optiver may help you prepare as you move through the process again.
For campus roles, please see the specific guidance in the campus section below.
Can I receive feedback on my application or assessment?
Unfortunately, due to large volumes of applications, we are not able to provide specific feedback during the early stages of the application process.
Eligibility
What are the eligibility criteria for each role?
You can find the full eligibility criteria in each job description. As a general guide for the 2026/2027 recruiting season:
- If you have more than 3 years' work experience, explore our experienced roles.
- If you are graduating between October 2023 and October 2027, our graduate roles, or Career Kickstarter programmes may be suitable.
- If you are graduating between November 2027 and October 2028, and are in your penultimate year of study, our Internships may be a good fit.
Eligibility can vary by role, so please always refer to the relevant job description for the most accurate information.
I'm unsure whether I have the right background to apply for a role at Optiver.
We hire candidates who come from a range of different academic and professional backgrounds. If you are able to demonstrate the skills and attributes outlined in the job description, we strongly encourage you to apply.
Visas
Are you able to support visas?
We consider visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis. Please submit your application, and we can discuss your circumstances during the interview process.
Assessments
I didn’t receive the assessment.
Please note that assessments can only be completed once every 8 months. If you have already completed the tests for a similar role within this period, your previous results will automatically be used and you will not receive a new assessment invitation.
I have issues completing the assessments. What should I do?
Before starting your assessment, please make sure you have a stable internet connection and are using a suitable device and browser.
If technical issues prevent you from completing an assessment, please try the following:
Sync device time with the Internet (Windows Settings):
- Click on the clock located on the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Select "Date and time settings".
- Toggle on the "Set time automatically" option.
- Ensure that the "Set time zone automatically" option is also enabled.
- Restart your device and try logging in again.
Disable any VPN:
If you are using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), it might interfere with our system's authentication process. Please disable the VPN temporarily while attempting to log in.
Try a different device:
If possible, please attempt to log in using a different device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or another computer. This will help us determine whether the problem is related to your specific device.
If you are still unable to access the assessments after trying these steps, please contact us using our
Can I retake the assessment?
We understand that technical issues or unforeseen circumstances can be frustrating. However, to ensure a fair and consistent recruitment process for all candidates, we're unable to offer assessment resets or retakes within 8 months once an attempt has been started.
This policy applies to all applicants. Making exceptions would be unfair to others progressing through the same process.
I didn't receive a one-time code required to log in to the Optiver Assessment Platform. What should I do?

Campus roles: Internship and graduate roles
The questions below are relevant only if you are applying to an Internship or Graduate role at Optiver Europe.
When will applications open for internship and graduate roles?
We expect to open applications for our 2027 campus roles, including internship and graduate positions, around the end of August 2026.
I'm unsure if I'm eligible based on my graduation year.
Your graduation date should include any anticipated but not yet commenced studies, even if you are still applying or waiting for confirmation.
For example, if you are graduating from your Bachelor’s degree in 2027 but plan to complete a Master’s degree in 2028, your graduation date is 2028. In that case, you may be eligible for our internship programmes.
What is the start date for your roles?
We have multiple start dates throughout the year that are linked with our training programmes. We will discuss this with you during the interview process.
Is it possible to do a longer internship? What are the timings of your internship programmes?
Our Amsterdam summer internship runs for 10 weeks between July and August and offers tracks in trading, research and technology.
We can offer some flexibility in the timing of the internship for certain business areas. Please discuss this in your behavioral interview with a member of our recruitment team, and we can explore possible options.
I have previously completed a final-day interview. Can I skip some parts of the current application process?
If you are applying for a campus role, have completed a final-day interview with us in the past two years and are reapplying for the same role, please contact us using our
