APAC Compliance Business Unit Manager

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused professional to join our APAC Compliance team in Hong Kong as the APAC Compliance Business Unit Manager.

Reporting to the APAC Chief Compliance officer, this role will play a central part in overseeing and enhancing the regional Compliance program, with a focus on governance, performance oversight and driving global & cross-regional initiatives. You will work closely with Compliance teams across APAC and partner with Group Compliance in London to ensure alignment with global standards.

This is not a traditional advisory compliance role.  Instead, it is a regional coordination and strategic execution role, suited to someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating across multiple stakeholders and seniority levels in a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Program Oversight & Reporting
    • Oversee Compliance-related KPIs and KRIs across APAC, ensuring consistency and meaningful measurement.
    • Enhance reporting frameworks and governance processes where appropriate.
    • Provide regular insights and analysis to the APAC CCO and senior stakeholders.
    • Execution and oversight of Core Compliance Program in APAC.
  • APAC & Global Compliance Initiative Delivery
    • Drive and coordinate APAC-wide Compliance initiatives, ensuring timely and effective execution.
    • Partner closely with Group Compliance in London to implement global programs regionally.
    • Act as a central coordination point for cross-office initiatives and best practice sharing.
  • Strategic Support for APAC CCO
    • Support the APAC CCO on strategic priorities, including planning, governance enhancements, and regional initiatives.
    • Prepare materials for senior management, governance forums, and leadership updates.
    • Contribute to the development and execution of the APAC Compliance strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagements
    • Build strong relationships with Compliance teams across APAC and global counterparts.
    • Engage with business stakeholders across trading, technology, and operations.
    • Act as a key connector between local, regional, and global Compliance functions.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience in financial markets, ideally within a trading or market-making environment.
  • Prior Compliance experience is strongly preferred but not pre-requisite.
  • Strong understanding of trading activities, market structure and associated risks.
  • Familiarity with Compliance framework, controls, and regulatory expectations is advantageous.
  • Strategic thinker with a self-initiated approach – able to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
  • Detail-oriented with strong execution discipline to deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and able to able to engage effectively across all levels of seniority.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to distill complex topics into clear insights.
  • Collaborative and globally minded, with the ability to work across regions and functions.
  • Prior experiences with various work efficiency and data analysis tools such as Claude, Cursor, n8n, etc. are strongly preferred.
