Experienced Commodity Trader

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We look for an Experienced Commodity Trader who has expertise in the commodity markets. Key skillset requirements include:

  • Sound understanding of the logistics and supply chain of commodity trading; understand the major factors that impact supply and demand; understand the behaviour of different players in the markets; understand the role currencies play in global commodity trading
  • Deep understanding in the market structure and drivers of agricultural/ferrous/chemical/metallic commodities, including supply and demand, positioning, flow, etc.
  • Has strong risk culture and understands limitations of fundamental research
  • Strong trading mindset. Always think about how to convert research outcome into a tradable strategy and maximize the trading outcome
  • Critical and data driven
  • Have sharp eyes for opportunities, eager to learn and to improve
  • Engagement in the industrial community, including producers, smelters, or downstream manufacturers
  • Quantitative skillset is not required but a plus

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have the below skills and experience.

  • A strong track record of commodities trading
  • Strong drive to make an impact on trading
  • Ability to think critically and implement new ideas
  • 3+ years experience in commodities (preferred sectors: agriculturals/chemicals/metals/ferrous/new energy)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and strong ability to learn
  • Analytical and basic quantitative skills
  • Collaborative attitude and continuous improvement mindset
