Led by Dr M.Grith, the course has been designed to make the analysis of financial derivatives more accessible to finance and science students. With a particular focus on futures, forwards and options, the course gives students the opportunity to leave with a solid foundation in options theory and the ways in which market makers like Optiver trade options across the world.
As part of the course, Optiver’s Robbert Pullen and Dennis van de Werken taught students how to build their own Python trading algorithms and put them to the test against their peers on Optiver’s simulated virtual exchange “Optibook”. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, the course allows students to take their acquired knowledge into their future careers in the finance industry.
