The championship brought together some of Europe’s top players in two high-pressure formats: rapid chess, where players have 15 minutes plus 10 seconds per move, and blitz chess, featuring an even faster pace of 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move.
In the Blitz Championship, Eline secured an impressive fourth place with a score of 9½ out of 13 points. A standout moment came in the 10th round, where she claimed a decisive victory against eventual champion Aleksandra Maltsevskaya. Eline also faced reigning 2023 champion Alexandra Kosteniuk in the final round—an intense match that showcased her resilience and determination.
In the Rapid Championship, Eline tied for first place in a four-way competition, with all contenders scoring 8½ out of 11 points. The final rankings were decided by tiebreak criteria, which placed her fourth overall, narrowly missing out on podium finishes in both formats.
Eline’s achievements reflect the same qualities we value at Optiver: the ability to perform under pressure, strategic thinking, and a relentless drive for improvement. We’re proud to support Eline as she continues to inspire both on and off the board, and we’re excited to follow her journey into 2025!
