Optiver’s Sydney office is one of the primary players within Asian markets, trading a range of products. As an active participant on the Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan exchanges, we act as Optiver’s APAC head office. Since 1996, our Sydney location has gone from five traders to more than 300 driven, dedicated team members from all over the world.

This newly created position will be the primary point of contact for new joiners as they journey toward their onboarding. The Candidate Liaison partners with internal recruiters and HR as well as external vendors to provide a seamless and enhanced candidate experience for all new joiners. The successful candidate will be highly organised, have strong attention to detail, and possess excellent communication skills. The role would be best suited to someone comfortable working autonomously and navigating solutions in an ambiguous environment.

What you’ll do

  • Developing relationships with candidates and supporting onboarding readiness including (but not limited to): welcome packs, orientation, travel
  • Start date change management
  • Supporting visa approvals and relocation needs, and ensuring candidates and internal stakeholders receive timely updates
  • Background check monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Developing ‘Keep in touch’ initiatives and events for local and international locations
  • Managing mandatory document verification
  • Managing general candidate questions
  • Be the champion for improving, developing, and maintaining high standards for process improvement and onboarding

What you need

  • 3+ years of relevant experience (in a candidate or customer-facing role)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects and relationships.
  • Superb customer focus, attention to detail, and organization skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
