Onboarding Manager


An exciting opportunity now exists for a self-motivated, ambitious KYC/Onboarding manager to join the Legal team at Optiver as the organisation continues to grow and the team’s involvement in all facets of the business expands.



Optiver is a leading global electronic market maker, focused on pricing, execution and risk management. We provide liquidity to financial markets using our own capital, at our own risk, trading a wide range of products: listed derivatives, cash equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign currencies.

Sydney is the hub of Optiver’s APAC operations and supports trading activities in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and China. In this role, you will work closely with project managers, lawyers and other departments in the firm to:

  • onboard institutional brokers and counterparties
  • establish and maintain long-term working relationships directly with external counterparties
  • attend to ad hoc KYC and due diligence requests
  • work directly with counterparties to ensure all required documentation is received and disseminated
  • liaise with the internal Compliance and Finance teams and other members of the Legal team to prepare and deliver documentation required during the onboarding process
  • work with Optiver’s trading teams to ensure awareness of the state of the onboarding process – experience with using JIRA will be well regarded
  • assist with maintaining and updating Optiver’s counterparty database
  • develop policies and procedures in this area and to generally make the process more efficient.


  • Approximately 5 years KYC/Onboarding experience
  • Law degree well regarded but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in financial markets and or trading
  • Eagerness to learn; questioning disposition; attention to detail
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
