WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Optiver is currently looking for a Credit Risk Manager to be part of the Global Risk Management team, where you will play an important role in the growth of our business. As the Global Credit Risk Manager you will be responsible for the daily compilation of Global Credit Reports and the daily monitoring of Credit Score Migrations. You will be owner of the Internal Credit Scores and Credit Scoring Methodology for all relevant counterparties.

Furthermore, you will provide advice on the CRM limits and will play a leading and coordinating role in the further improvement of the CRM framework (new reports, the methodologies, new rating) across the offices. 

An important part of your daily activities is to closely follow developments on financial markets and link these developments to potential impact on Credit Risk Exposures. With your confident, credible attitude you are not afraid to take ownership of your actions and you are keen to play an active role in advising and supporting the local CRM departments/offices with ad-hoc CRM requests.

In short, as our new Global Credit Risk Manager you will:

  • Develop and maintain Credit risk frameworks and set limits in close alignment with Local Risk departments, Trading and other departments
  • Monitor and report aggregated credit risk exposures to Senior management
  • Evaluate Credit Risk exposures within new business initiatives
  • Evaluate global market structure differences and how this impacts Optiver’s position
  • Review and evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing trading counterparties
  • Identify emerging risks within the organisation in the field of credit and counterparty risk

WHO YOU ARE:

  • An academic degree preferably in Economics, Finance, STEM subject or equivalent
  • 1-5 years of working experience within the financial industry
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Risk Management, Trading or other areas of the financial industry
  • A proactive, analytical and inquisitive mindset with a willingness to speak up
  • Being proficient in Python, SQL and/or VBA is a distinct plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • A proactive, pragmatic and inquisitive mindset
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to improve
  • Great multitasking skills with an eye for detail
  • The ability to stand your ground when under pressure
