As a Data Scientist you’ll contribute herein by investigating, developing and improving data-driven trading strategies in close cooperation with traders, researchers and developers on one of the most dynamic and exciting trading floors in Europe.

What you'll do
You will spend your first weeks at Optiver in a challenging training program learning about our organization, trading, theory and our technical infrastructure. Immediately after you will continue learning by hands-on experience in your own projects/strategies with guidance from fellow Researchers and Traders.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing data pipelines, processing and transforming large datasets, and generating alpha by improving our trading strategies through machine learning and back testing techniques.
We expect you to be versatile, flexible and very creative in coming up with new, innovative solutions. In return you get the freedom to pursue your ideas and implement them right into our production systems. By taking the initiative to continuously improve our trading you’ll get to have an impact on our business almost immediately after starting.
What you'll need
- Competitive attitude and eagerness to constantly improve yourself
- An academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics or equivalent
- Numerical skills with a good understanding of statistics, calculus, linear algebra and probability
- Good programming skills, preferably advanced in Python, SQL and experience with machine learning
- Great attention to detail
- A ‘can do’ attitude when it comes to problem solving combined with the ability to carry a project
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
