Application Engineer

Our Application Engineers drive our trading production environment towards simplicity and reliability.

Trading == Technology

Our in-house systems play an essential role in everything we do in the trading domain. That is why our Technology and Trading teams collaborate closely to explore ideas and set the new directions. Together we build and maintain an outstanding suite of reliable, high performing systems and applications.

Trading is a complex and unpredictable environment with frequent changes and a high load. We trade on more than 50 exchanges all over the world processing, approximately a million trades a day. Our infrastructure is a combination of 10.000 highly customized components and 600 different applications running on 1500 servers distributed globally. We deal with 14.000 releases and 35.000 changes per year. Our main challenge for Application Engineers is balancing complexity with system performance and reliability.

What you'll do

As Application Engineer, you deploy, monitor, and configure a suite of proprietary trading applications. You sit on the trading floor and work closely with Traders, Researchers and fellow Engineers to identify and troubleshoot issues that arise. Here, no two days are the same. You know the ins and outs of the existing systems and constantly question the status quo. You collaborate with software development teams to ensure the health and stability of the production trading environment. You develop tools to make daily activities more efficient and consistent. With a facilitating and enabling attitude as well as hands-on mentality, you always strive for the simplest solutions.
