Junior Software Developer

What you’ll do
At Optiver creative and innovative development solutions are a core component of our business and are critical to our success. Every millisecond counts and every transaction must run smoothly in order to allow maximum performance levels.
As a Developer, you will focus on custom application development. You could work on systems as diverse as exchange connectivity, trading software, or business intelligence systems. Your solutions will help our business with access, analysis and execution of trading opportunities. Your creativity will have a direct result on the company’s profit margins. You will work with the latest technology and nearly limitless budgets to address requirements. Instead of an end-user client you never see, your colleagues will use your solutions every day to improve their work. You will work on mostly Windows and Unix platforms, with a mix of systems, applications and tools that primarily have been developed within Optiver by your (future) colleagues. Working primarily in C++ and C# on Windows and Unix, you will be involved in designing and maintaining applications that you have custom built for the business. You will work closely with end-users (such as Trading, Risk and Finance teams) and with your colleagues to develop reliable, high performing and effective solutions. Your ideas will help shape the challenging and continuously changing world of Trading. Applicants for the position of Junior developer should have strong Object Oriented design skills and the ability to work on difficult technical problems. Familiarity with C++ or C# is essential. From your first day on the job, you are an equal and important member of the team and you will be expected to contribute to the team’s success. You will see the results of your work in practice and you will use your creativity and vision to develop real solutions. • You have knowledge of C++ and/or C#;
