Compliance Officer
What you will do
Optiver is operating in an increasingly complex and fast developing regulatory environment. The Compliance function is focused on identifying and managing the reputation risks inherent in the business activities and advising on measures to mitigate such risks. As a Compliance Officer you will aim at stimulating, monitoring and controlling the observation of laws, regulations, internal rules and ethical standards that are relevant to the integrity of Optiver. Besides that you will contribute to the designing of the control framework. Thus, as a member of the Compliance team one of your core challenges will be to provide Optiver with the appropriate advice and support.
Your focus will be on the head office in Amsterdam, while you will also co-operating with our offices in Chicago and Sydney. Your main attention will be ensuring that Optiver’s European trading activities are in Compliance with the legal and regulatory environment, whereby you will contribute to the development of policies and procedures and ensure its implementation. Also the development of ethics and Compliance training will be one of your tasks, shared with the Compliance team.

Moreover you will be involved in local as well as cross border Compliance related projects and will advise the business on those.
As a Compliance Officer you will be responsible for:
- Provision of strategic and practical advice regarding regulatory matters;
- Arranging the annual compliance risk management cycle by identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting on Compliance risks;
- Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures;
- Building Compliance awareness within the business/company;

Designing and delivering Compliance training to enhance awareness.
What you will need
- Academic degree: preferably law, finance/economics or a comparable education in accounting or audit;
- Minimum of 3 years working experience as a Compliance Officer;
- Knowledge and experience of the financial markets, ideally regarding trading of financial instruments;
- Knowledge and experience with applicable rules and regulations;
- Familiarity with the Dutch and European regulatory environment;
- Experience in / understanding of operational, audit and risk management;
- Good sense for cultural differences and developments in the social ethical environment;
- Flexible and pro-active work attitude;

Excellent written and communicative skills in English, reading and understanding Dutch.
